Is Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 really happening? A new official statement sows doubt in the minds of gamers and the very large community. What do we know?
Famous actor Tony Todd, the voice of Venom in the Insomniac games, recently hinted that he is working on a new project with Yuri Lowenthal, the actor who plays Spider-Man. This teaser has sparked a lot of speculation among fans and video game industry observers. A Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 on the way?
A Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 or another project?
On Lowenthal’s birthday, Todd sowed doubts. On social media, he wished her a happy birthday and added: “2 major projects completed and we continue“. This statement immediately caught attention, with some seeing it as an implicit confirmation of interesting new developments afoot at Insomniac. Like inevitably, possibly a Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 or simply a new DLC.
Last year, reports suggested that Insomniac was working on a special Venom game titled Venom: Lethal Protector. Rumors suggested that this project would be similar in scope to the Miles Morales game. If this information turns out to be accurate, it would be logical to see Tony Todd and Yuri Lowenthal working together on this. Their collaboration could also extend to other Marvel projects that are less focused on Spider-Man, such as the highly anticipated Wolverine game.
A Venom game that benefits from Insomniac’s impressive production capabilities could easily achieve the same success as Miles Morales. Since Venom is one of the most popular characters in the Marvel Universe, such a production seems like an obvious choice to satisfy fans who are looking forward to new adventures with the symbiote.
In addition, a recent leak of an alpha gameplay of Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 revealed enormous potential for the next opus, with significant spoilers for one of the protagonists. Although this leak has not been confirmed, it fuels even more anticipation and excitement about Insomniac’s future plans. For your part, what would you like to see on your PS5?
