Since its announcement in 2022, the Age of Empires Mythology remake has been very quiet. In a live stream, Microsoft finally showed signs of life. Age of Empires and Mythology: What Microsoft is planning for strategy games in 2024 Age of Mythology: Retold is scheduled to appear for the PC and Xbox consoles this year. The remake focuses heavily on making graphical changes to the original. The character models and animations have mostly been recreated. But game mechanics and the abilities of the units have also been thoroughly polished. In the showcase, art director Melinda Rose introduced three entities from the Greek pantheon: Medusa, Pegasus and Cerberus. There was no gameplay to be seen yet.
