game news Alan Wake 2 finally emerges from the shadows on PS5 with a spooky video!
If there’s one saga that fans have been praying day and night for a return, it’s probably Alan Wake. And more than a decade after the first installment, Alan Wake II is finally nearing release, but before that it has yet to put some stars in your eyes. Hence his presence at the PlayStation Showcase.
in the shadow
Even if it could be improved on more than one point, Alan Wake is one of those games that enjoys a particularly strong aura and has even expanded over time. With its unique sense of storytelling, a dark and intriguing plot, and an open (some would even say unfinished) ending, Remedy’s game was a smash hit when it released in 2010.
It was years and years before the Finnish studio regained the rights (previously it was an Xbox exclusive) and was able to watch a sequel, Alan Wake II, which will be released for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. However, the software has decided to show itself to the PlayStation 5 during tonight’s PS Showcase, with a somber and breathless trailer that can be found above.
light effects
Most notably, Alan Wake II featured very early gameplay footage this time. We will therefore find a third-person game, handheld and resolutely survival-oriented, with, even more so for this sequel, a distinct horror.
Big news: The trailer introduces us to another protagonist, Saga Anderson, an FBI agent who will also be a playable character. She must solve a series of ritualistic murders in a small Pacific Northwest town (Bight Falls), aided by a strange cult… until she stumbles across the pages of a horror story that brings everyone around her to life.
His fate will then intersect with that of Alan Wake, who is still trapped in an endless nightmare and has been missing for 13 years. Interesting info: The player can choose to experience Alan Wake and Saga Anderson’s campaign in the order of their choice.
Each character will therefore have its plot and context: Alan Wake will develop in the Dark Place, a mystical place where he is trapped, while Anderson will intervene in Bright Falls, the forest and the lake of Cauldron Lake.
Finally, one more important detail: Alan Wake II will arrive on October 17th. Although Remedy appears to have reached an agreement with Sony, the game will not only be released on PS5, but also on PC and Xbox Serieswe remember it again.
