Ahead of the PlayStation State of Play event later today (September 24), Legacy of Kain: Reaper of Souls 1-2 Remastered has seemingly leaked via a PlayStation Store listing, where the game pops up, says hello, and then returns to its home planet.
The description of the listing, which was posted on social media, mentions that Aspyr-developed games include Legacy of Kain: Soul Eater and Legacy of Kain: Soul Eater 2 – just as you’d expect.

“Experience the epic clash of Kain and Raziel in either the original or remastered form,” it reads, noting that it’s a great way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the original game. Interestingly, it came out in 1999, the year I was born. I’m sorry if that makes you feel old.
There’s also a release date – December 10, 2024 – a trailer and a bunch of screenshots, all of which have been copied and pasted in the thread below.

A leaked plot/synopsis is also part of the listing, which reads: “Centuries after your former master, Kain, betrayed and executed you, you rise again on a ruthless quest for vengeance. Master the power of the spectre. Use your claws, telepathic energy beams, and elemental ghost blades to slay your former vampire brothers.
“Grow stronger by consuming the souls of your enemies. Shift between realms. The Old Gods have granted you the ability to shift between the ghostly realm and the material realm. Travel across the realms to solve puzzles, discover new paths, and defeat your enemies.”
Today’s State of Play show is rumoured to be showcasing a host of remakes, so we’ll just have to see if this remake is one of the pieces that actually appears on the show, which you can watch here when it starts at 11pm BST.
