Put on armor, grab your sword and pack a chicken to be on the safe side: Chivalry 2 is on the home stretch. The multiplayer sword fighting game should appear in a few weeks. Before that, however, there is at least one closed beta test.

Release: When will Chivalry 2 be released?
If everything goes according to plan, Chivalry 2 will be released on 8. June
Crossplay support: Right from the release, Chivalry 2 will offer crossplay between all five platforms so that nothing stands in the way of battles with up to 64 players.
When does the beta start?
There will be a closed beta on all platforms before the June release. The test phase will take place from from April 23rd to April 26th and for the first time also offers crossplay.
Participation is only open to players who pre-order either the digital standard version or the special edition of Chivalry 2.
What content does the beta offer?
The closed beta gives you a first look at the general gameplay of Chivalry 2. The following features are included in the beta:
- Map: Siege of Rudhelm
- Game modes: Team Objective, Team Deathmatch & Free for All
- All four classes with their various sub-classes are ready to play
- Tutorial: Before going into battle, you can learn the most important techniques
Which editions of Chivalry 2 are there?
Chivalry 2 comes in two different versions, both in physical retail and digital. Depending on which version you purchase, you will receive additional bonuses within the game, which are primarily optical in nature.
Chivalry 2: Standard Edition
What’s in it? The standard edition only contains the full version of Chivalry 2 both digitally and physically. However, it is available in retail outlets with the “Day One Edition”, which contains a download code for the “Royal Zweihänder” weapon skin.
Chivalry 2: Steelbook Edition
What’s in it? The steelbook edition contains the base game in a special steelbook case. There are also digital extras:
- Skins: Jousting Knight Armor, Royal Broadsword, Gold Horseman’s Axe, Roses Novelty Item, Royal Zweihänder
- 5,000 gold – currency that can be earned in the game
- 1,000 crowns – premium currency that gives access to new skins
Chivalry 2: Special Edition
What’s in it? The digital special edition contains the basic game including the following extras
- Skins: Jousting Knight Armor, Royal Broadsword, Gold Horseman’s Axe, Roses Novelty Item, Royal Zweihänder
- 5,000 gold – currency that can be earned in the game
- 1,000 crowns – premium currency that gives access to new skins
Pre-order bonus: Anyone who pre-orders Chivalry 2 will automatically receive the “Royal Two-Handed” skin upon release.
What can you expect in Chivalry 2?
The sequel to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare consistently continues the chosen path. The focus is on large and chaotic multiplayer battles. With sword, ax, bow or any other weapon you can engage in dynamic battles, which, however, do not claim to be a complex sword fighting simulation.
Realism is not the goal for the developers anyway. Instead, they are based on epic medieval films and combine it with black humor in the style of Monty Python. If you are about to lose a duel, you can, for example, throw a chicken in the face of your opponent. This is guaranteed to lighten the mood, as the time of the rides around castles is actually a rather gloomy scenario, as you can read in our report on the fascination of the medieval setting.

In addition to an increased number of players (from 32 to 64 players), Chivalry 2 also features horses for the first time. In addition, the developers promise more precise control and no turning back when depicting violence. Severed heads are therefore the order of the day.
