For once, Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be offered certain games across consoles, cloud and PC in January 2025, including some nice indie titles.
The arrival of the new game Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle on Xbox Game Pass in December 2024 is one of the service's biggest innovations. Before the adventurer arrives, subscribers were able to secure other big titles like Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and the latest Forza Motorsport. Even though we don't yet know what the second wave of games will be on offer, Microsoft has already given a preview of the next additions. Here are the confirmed XGP releases from January 2025 to now.
The first Xbox Game Pass games for January 2025
After Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle, Microsoft has added Wildfrost to the Xbox Game Pass catalog. This is the last known game from December 2024 at the time of publishing this article. We'll wait for a new statement from the green manufacturer, but first let's take a look at the first new features for January 2025. The Xbox Game Pass will push two (very) popular independent games, which for some are even gems.
Do you like horror and original concepts? Carrion, the reverse horror game from Phobia Game Studio and Devolver Digital, is back on Xbox Game Pass starting January 2, 2025. If you prefer a narrative title that focuses on the journey, Road 96 will try to move you. There are also releases from day one, including the new licensed game that hits the mark.
Without further ado, here's all the software announced in Xbox Game Pass for January 2025… for now!
- Carrion (Cloud, Console, PC) – January 2nd. A reverse horror game where you play as a creature trying to escape from a research complex. The goal? Take revenge on the team from here
- Street 96 (Cloud, Console, PC) – January 7th. A procedurally generated narrative road trip where you'll encounter unexpected encounters along the way
- Eternal strands (to be confirmed: cloud, console, PC) – January 28th. A new fantasy action-adventure game in which you manipulate certain elements and powers such as telekinesis. New Xbox Game Pass for day one
- Sniper Elite: Resistance (to be confirmed: cloud, console, PC) – January 30th. Are you a triggerman? You can prove that in the next Sniper Elite. To eliminate the new threat from the Empire, Agent Harry Hawker must ally himself with the French Resistance. New day one XGP
- Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward vector (to be confirmed: cloud, console, PC) – January 31st. A practical role-playing game that should please RPG fans. New day one XGP
