Do you want to let balloons fly through the picture or set off fireworks during a WhatsApp video call? No problem. This is very easy to do with this trick.
Do you like making video calls via WhatsApp and want to really amaze your friends? Then we’ll tell you a trick that many people don’t know. You can use certain gestures to trigger effects during a phone call – but only on the iPhone.
Here you have to activate the effects first. To do this, open the Control Center and then select Video Effects and activate the “Reactions” function. From now on you can trigger various effects in Facetime and also during video calls via third-party apps such as WhatsApp with a few simple hand signals.
Use video effects on the iPhone
If you hold a thumb up or down into the camera, a corresponding symbol appears on the screen. Use the victory sign to let balloons float through the picture. If you point both thumbs down into the camera at the same time, it will start to rain during the phone call.
You can find a complete list of all gestures here in Apple’s support area. These effects can only be triggered via an iPhone, but they can also be seen on Android phones.
