At the beginning of January 2024, a new major player entered the SVOD market with the firm intention of conquering French territory first. With its “free” offering and its already very extensive catalog, the platform is the underdog of choice. The latest film added to the catalog is currently reserved exclusively for Amazon Prime Video.
The entertainment and telecommunications giant is hitting hard at the start of the year. TF1 aims to capture a share of the lucrative SVOD market in France and achieve its TF1+ (formerly MyTF1) goals, launched on January 8, 2024. This streaming platform stands out from its main competitors (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+) thanks to its “free” offer with advertising and a catalog of several thousand hours of content (15,000 to be precise).

A “Tom Clancy” film on TF1+
The film that interests us today was one of the most important cinema exclusives that Amazon Prime Video offers in 2021. Without Remorse is an action thriller directed by Stefano Sollima and written by Taylor Sheridan (Comancheria, Sicario) and Will Staples (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Sweet Girl). The Italian filmmaker had previously earned a good reputation in Hollywood with Sicario: La Guerre des cartels (2018), the sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s Sicario, as well as the series Romanzo crimee (2008 – 2010) and Gomorrah (2014 – 2021). .
The original title Without Remorse is an adaptation of the 1993 novel of the same name by Tom Clancy. If this name sounds familiar, that’s normal. French publisher Ubisoft has developed several video game sagas based on the North American writer’s stories, including Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. Without Any Regrets is now available for free on TF1+ for a limited time.
John Kelly is a member of the SEALs. As he searches for answers and justice after his pregnant wife is murdered by Russian soldiers, he uncovers a vast international conspiracy.
