It used to be the summer sale, now it’s Prime Day. This usually takes place once a year in summer, but this time Amazon invites you to a bargain battle a second time. On October 11th and 12th exclusive offers are waiting for Prime subscribers again for 48 hours.

This is how we determine the comparison prices
For our price comparison, we consult the price search engine geizhals.de. On the one hand, we compare the offer with the manufacturer’s recommended retail price (RRP), which usually reflects the costs at market launch. On the other hand, of course, we look at how much other, reputable, online retailers charge for a product.
This is usually the more interesting comparison, since the RRP usually differs significantly from the current street price. When comparing with other dealers, we only consider well-known and reputable dealers with appropriate ratings and a company headquarters in Germany. We usually leave out smaller eBay or Amazon Marketplace sellers in our price comparison.
What is Prime Day anyway?
Amazon Prime Day is a big campaign day especially for Prime customers. Amazon Premium subscribers benefit from exclusive discounts on thousands upon thousands of products. Prime Day is now an integral part of online retail and competes with Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Singles Day.
When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?
The first Amazon Prime Day 2022 took place on July 12th and 13th this year. Amazon is now repeating the event on October 11th and 12th.
Amazon Prime Day: Prime subscription is required
Prerequisite for bargain hunting on Prime Day is a subscription to Amazon Prime. This costs EUR 89.90 per year and includes numerous advantages, such as a free subscription to Prime Music and Prime Video. Prime Day Blitz and Last Minute Deals
In addition to the daily offers (last minute offers), there are also so-called lightning offers on Amazon. These are only valid for a few hours and the number of discounted products is also limited. New lightning deals are activated every 15 or 30 minutes throughout the day.
On promotional days such as Prime Day, however, there can also be new flash offers every five minutes. If you like a product, you put it in your virtual shopping cart. After that you only have 15 minutes to pay at the cash register.

Return or exchange Prime Day purchases
Your right of return or cancellation is 30 days at Amazon. There are also exceptions here at the Marketplace. Depending on the seller, you may only have 14 days to return an item.
Tip: Always process the return via the Amazon website. For many products you will receive a return slip and can send the goods back free of charge.

As is usual in online retail, there is no general right to exchange for an identical product (e.g. clothing in a different size). For some goods you can select “replace” when returning. In most cases, however, only a return is possible.
Strike on Prime Day or wait for Black Friday?
Should you strike directly on Prime Day or rather wait until Black Friday? This question is difficult to answer. In the past there were many offers on Prime Day at the best price. Some of the prices were even below those of Black Friday.
Our tip: If you discover a good offer where you can save a lot of money in the price comparison, grab it. Amazon products in particular are most likely to be the cheapest on Prime Day. If, on the other hand, the savings on your desired product are rather meager, it is worth waiting for Cyber Week and Black Friday.
Save even more with the warehouse deals
You don’t just buy brand new products at the best prices on Prime Day. As a rule, Amazon also grants discounts on items from the warehouse. These are returned items that have already been unpacked but are mostly still in new condition. Amazon indicates the product condition from “like new” to “acceptable”. You buy Warehouse products at rock-bottom prices.

Tip: With the warehouse deals you can also save a lot outside of Prime Day. Since these are returned items, the products are always offered below the original price. You can read in the linked guide what you need to consider when buying returns or exhibits.
Prime Day offer sold out – what to do?
Found a great offer but weren’t quick enough? It’s also worth looking outside the box on Prime Day. Other retailers often go along with the promotions and adjust their prices.
It is therefore quite possible that you can buy your desired product at Media Markt, Saturn or Otto for the same or at least a very similar price. Some retailers have also countered Prime Day with their own promotions in the past year.
Missed Prime Day? No problem!
If your desired product slipped through your fingers on Prime Day or it just doesn’t fit the schedule, don’t get upset. At the end of November there are around two weeks with Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Cyber Week strong bargains at various German dealers.
The highlight with the best deals is definitely Black Friday, which falls on November 25th this year. Here you have a good chance of getting the product you want at the lowest price. In addition, you are not limited to one dealer. But then again, it’s time to be quick!
Funding Prime Day offers – these options exist
Many products such as large kitchen appliances, televisions or notebooks are not exactly cheap. Not everyone can afford these devices with a one-off payment. If you still want to fulfill a long-cherished wish or are dependent on a quick new purchase, financing is an option in this case.
Amazon is more difficult in this regard than other retailers. On the one hand, the Amazon credit card gives you the opportunity to finance expensive products using monthly installments. Here, however, high interest rates of almost 15 percent are incurred.
On the other hand, the mail order company offers a partial payment option for some products. Here you can pay for goods in five monthly payments and this without interest. However, the availability of the 5-month financing is very limited. This is usually offered on Amazon’s own products. You can also find some of them at other retailers on the platform.
