The manufacturer AMD could have a nice surprise in store for technology fans with an imminent release. What exactly do we know about it at the moment?
Rumors about AMD’s new Ryzen Zen 5 processors are circulating, pointing to an imminent release. This information was revealed by mini PC maker AOOSTAR, who mentioned this date in a recent announcement, sparking some interest among tech enthusiasts. Clearly, there is something that gets hardware enthusiasts excited.
Launch and availability for AMD
The next Ryzen processors based on the Zen 5 architecture are expected to be available in August, with the first mini PCs equipped with these chips arriving a few months later, around October. This information suggests that Socket AM5 platforms will be ready to accommodate these new processors as soon as they hit the market.
The new AMD Zen 5 processors promise significant improvements over previous generations. They will integrate Zen 5 CPU cores, an RDNA 3+ GPU architecture and an XDNA 2 NPU, offering three times more computing power than current models. Two main variants of Strix APUs are planned: a standard version with 12 CPU cores and 16 GPU cores, and a high-end version, Strix Halo, with up to 16 CPU cores and 40 GPU cores. If you’re thinking about preparing a new configuration, you know what to do. Or not, if you’re already with Intel and want to stay there.
This launch is particularly anticipated as it represents an important milestone for AMD in the field of desktop processors and compact mobile solutions. The planned advances in performance and energy efficiency could strengthen AMD’s market position against its competitors. Official announcements at the Computex 2024 conference are eagerly awaited, with additional details on new products based on the Zen 5 architecture. As a reminder, Computex 2024 will take place from June 4 to 7, so we’ll have to wait and see.
