AMD does not give up relentlessly annoying its competitor Intel. AMD is expanding its portfolio in the lower price segment with two new CPUs and new motherboards with a B550 chipset.

AMD's Ryzen 3000 series with Zen-2 architecture gets two new additions, which are also interesting for the smaller budget and round off the portfolio. The new processors are called AMD Ryzen 3 3300X and 3100. Both are 4-core with 8 threads and a low power consumption of 65W TDP. The Ryzen 3 3300X clocked at 3.8 / 4.3 GHz, the R3 3100 at 3.6 / 3.9 GHz.
The prices are really tasty: the R3 3300X is available for $ 120, the R3 3100 for $ 99. AMD now offers powerful alternatives to the CPUs from competitor Intel in this area too.
Appropriately, a new chipset was announced, the B550. These boards are also said to be in the lower price segment. Very welcome, because the boards for Ryzen 3000 CPUs are still relatively expensive. However, there should be no shortage of features, even PCIe 4.0 is supported. Precise specifications are still pending, but the new boards should be available from June 16.
So if you are planning to build a cheap but powerful computer, you should perhaps wait for the new boards and CPUs, it could be worth it.
