AMD has now released the first processors from the Ryzen 7000 lineup, but the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is still the CPU for gamers. With its particularly large L3 cache, it even places itself ahead of the newer in-house competition in some games and is only beaten by the Core i9-13900K.

AMD itself has known for a long time that variants with the larger 3D V-cache are also planned for Ryzen 7000. Now the US side Wccftech wants to know that these Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs are to be announced in a few months.

Like the page citing AMD’s internal roadmap, the manufacturer is to announce the processors at CES 2023. The tech fair will take place in Las Vegas from January 5th to 8th.

AMD itself has already confirmed that Ryzen 7000 CPUs with 3D V-Cache are in the works.

Ryzen 7000X3D: No longer a lone wolf

In the article, Wccftech consistently speaks of several CPUs that are to be released on a Zen 4 basis and with 3D V-Cache. Unlike the Ryzen 5000, more than one model with a larger cache will most likely appear.

Which processors are exactly involved can neither be found in the known information from AMD nor in the article. However, a release of a Ryzen 7800X3D seems extremely likely.

AMD had rejected a Ryzen 9 with 3D V-Cache for the last generation. It is therefore particularly exciting to see whether there will be a Ryzen 9 7900X3D or even a Ryzen 9 7950X3D in the coming months.

With the presentation at CES, AMD seems to have pushed the release of gaming processors a good deal forward. Originally, the CPUs were not supposed to be presented until the end of 2023. One reason for the earlier release could be the performance of Intel’s Core i9-13900K.

AMD doesn’t want to give up just yet

In his test, my colleague Nils was quite amazed at how much stronger Intel’s CPU flagship is compared to the new AMD processors.

Especially in low resolutions, when the CPUs are not limited by the graphics card, the octa-core processor from Intel gets a good lead. AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X clearly has to admit defeat.

With the Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs, AMD could turn the tide again in a few months, which could be the reason for the possibly early release. The larger L3 cache in combination with the new Zen 4 base could give AMD the gaming crown again.

However, the duel is not decided yet, because Intel also has supplies in the pipeline with the Core i9-13900KS and AMD will not give up without a fight.

Incredible clock speeds: The Core i9-13900KS from Intel is said to have broken two records at the same time

Do you think AMD can beat Intel again with its new 3D V-Cache CPUs? And do you think there will also be a Ryzen 9 with a three-dimensional cache this year? Write us your opinion in the comments!
