From @greymon55, a Twitter user who has made a name for himself through mostly reliable insider information, there is now an indication that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is fast approaching the market launch. It is already delivered from the package factory and is therefore ready for trading: The 58X3D has shipped and is expected to launch later this month

Almost 100 MB cache against Intel’s flagship
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D has three times as much L3 cache as the previous Ryzen 7 5800X. In addition to the usual 32 MB L3 cache, 64 MB were stacked on the die, which is commonly referred to as 3D stacking. With this cache of 96 MB, which is enormous for desktop processors, the performance in games should be significantly increased: Compared to a Ryzen 9 5900X with more cores and a higher clock, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D should, thanks to the 3D cache, in games selected by AMD in the be an average of 15 percent faster.
The Ryzen 7 5800X3D should only just beat Intel’s Core i9 12900K in some games and thus take the crown of the world’s fastest gaming processor
retrieve. The fact that the additional performance is only obtained from the cache upgrade is shown by the fact that the clock rates of the eight-core are even below the Ryzen 5800X. The TDP specification remains unchanged at 105 watts.
Kerne/Threads | Clock Base / Turbo | L3-Cache | TDP | Price (Release) | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ryzen 9 5950X | 16/32 | 3,4 / 4,9 GHz | 64 MB | 105 W | 799 Euro |
Ryzen 9 5900X | 12/24 | 3,7 / 4,8 GHz | 64 MB | 105 W | 549 Euro |
Ryzen 7 5800X3D | 8/16 | 3,4 / 4,5 GHz | 96 MB | 105 W | ? |
Ryzen 7 5800X | 8/16 | 3,8 / 4,7 GHz | 32 MB | 105 W | 449 Euro |
Ryzen 5 5600X | 6/12 | 3,7 / 4,6 GHz | 32 MB | 65 W | 299 Euro |
It is still unclear what price AMD will charge for the gaming CPU. The Ryzen 7 5800X was launched for 449 dollars and currently retails for less than 350 dollars. The Ryzen 9 5900X costs 100 dollars more. It is questionable that the Ryzen 7 5800X3D ends up in the middle at around 400 dollars. The additional memory is expensive and AMD could, if the performance is right, also target the Intel Core i9-12900K, which currently costs 580 dollars.
