American McGee’s Alice had transported the material from Alice in Wonderland into a horror ambience and knew how to convince. After Alice: Madness Returns, a third part of the series should now appear – but unfortunately nothing will come of it.
Publisher Electronic Arts has taken a closer look at the topic and has finally decided to put the plans for a third and final part of American McGee’s Alice series, which is designed as a trilogy, on hold; Corresponding plans communicated last year have now been thrown away.
Thanks to the “design bible”, which found its way onto the web in advance by many of the artists involved, we basically already knew quite a lot before we finally got the green light for development work. The title would have been Alice: Asylum and the core concept was already worked out. The story would have finally connected the previously loose ends from American McGee’s Alice and Alice: Madness Returns and rounded off the story.
