House of the Dragon – Season 2 is over. The dance of the dragons has begun. After initial difficulties, Rhaenyra’s black faction was able to strengthen its thinned ranks with several new dragon riders. These so-called Dragonseeds, in Europe Dragon seeds
These are children born from illegitimate relationships of the Targaryens and other old houses of Valyria. Since episode 6, we know that this includes the former sailor Addam of Holk.
We had the opportunity to speak to Addams actor Clinton Liberty about the season finale and asked him what his promotion to powerful dragon rider means for him and his character. Liberty’s answer is surprising, because for the actor, the second season certainly holds a personal lesson for viewers.

House of the Dragon: Season 2 is half over, a new trailer now heats up the mood
For him, the development of his character in season 2 represents hope above all else. And that is exactly what viewers should take away from Season 2, says Liberty:
Addam is someone who comes from the bottom – even in the ship’s crew of which he is a part. He is not allowed to go on too many trips, he is always stuck doing the same boring, dirty work. But he wants to make more of his life and accomplish great things.
But there seems to be no way out for him until he suddenly sees the dragon Seasmoke, or rather Seasmoke chooses him as his rider. For me as an actor and also for the audience, I think that shows: No matter where you come from or where you want to go, there is always hope. As long as you are breathing and alive, there is always hope.
Personally, I felt the same way as Addam: I always dreamed of being part of a Game of Thrones series or an HBO series. And for me, that’s really happening now, my dream has really come true. So for me and Addam and the viewers, that shows one thing: There is always hope – no matter what happens.
