Only one month left until the highly anticipated release of Silent Hill 2 Remake. Until then, the title is illustrated with a very generous gameplay video.
Announced two years ago now and 23 years after the original game, Silent Hill 2 Bloober Team Remake will finally emerge from the fog very soon. More specifically, we will find James and his troubles on October 8th on PC and PS5. In the meantime, with Konami’s blessing, you can see what the game’s launch looks like via a long gameplay video.
The beginning of Silent Hill 2 Remake emerges from the fog
The Japanese YouTube channel 2BRO was actually able to present the first 90 minutes of Silent Hill 2 Remake through an advertising campaign financed by Konami, the publisher of this update of the original monument by Bloober Team (Medium). So it is a presentation that could not be more official and not just any leak. The video is commented in Japanese while the game is shown in its English version. Of course, with everything there is the risk of integrating potential SPOILER
The launch of Silent Hill 2 Remake is sure to bring back good (or bad, depending on your sensibilities) memories for veterans of the original game. We actually find James Sunderland trying to navigate Silent Hill’s iconic fog. The oppressive Bloober Team-style atmosphere overall seems to be a nice, modernized homage to the original material, while unspeakable horrors brew when you least expect it.
If we are to believe the communication from Konami and Bloober Team surrounding this highly acclaimed remake, this 90-minute sequence would represent approximately 10% of the entire (mis)adventure, with the title having a lifespan of around 18 hours. Lovers of the original masterpiece can rest assured: even if the gameplay and graphics are undergoing a major overhaul, James’ tortured story is likely to remain unchanged, with the Polish studio not willing to compromise on this point. A Silent Hill 2 remake that promises to do justice to a colossal legend? Verdict on October 8 on PC and PS5.
