A Skyrim VR streamer wanted to create the ultimate immersive experience for Bethesda’s iconic title. But it comes at a price, in more ways than one…
For many players, Skyrim remains one of the most popular open-world role-playing games of all time. This is especially true for GingasVR, which has invested heavily in creating the most immersive experience possible for the venerable and iconic Bethesda title. Maybe too forceful?
An adventure like no other in Skyrim
In 2021, GingasVR spent a whopping $15,000 to give her and her viewers the most immersive Skyrim experience possible. It was then an installation of various trackers around and on the body and mods aimed at reproducing the sensations experienced in the game in real life. This was particularly true of the temperature or even the taste of the food Avatar ate. But that clearly wasn’t enough.
The content creator has therefore added an outfit with integrated haptic feedback to this impressive device. It consists of electrodes connected to the skin and now reproduces the pain sensations inflicted on your character in Skyrim. When hit in game, an electric shock is sent to the affected area of the streamer. In the video below, GingasVR specifically explains: “ It’s REALLY sweet when a Dovakhiin is burned alive
This isn’t the only anachronistic technology that has made its way into the GingasVR experience. In fact, the NPCs’ dialogues are dictated by OpenAI in sometimes very unusual ways. One of them even said to the streamer: “ Throwing yourself off a cliff is the best way to test your pain tolerance “. He probably didn’t mean to say that in a good way.
