By Jason Schreier (via Bloomberg) Sony Interactive Entertainment was finally able to confirm its Project Spartacus this week. The aim would be to combine PS Plus and PlayStation Now and offer new benefits to subscribers.
Formalization before March 31?
According to the journalist, who has proved its reliability more than once, Sony will present its “answer” to Xbox Game Pass in the coming days. Thus, the manufacturer would have just one service – with three Essential, Extra and Premium formulas – including “free” titles each month, access to multiplayer and a wide selection of streaming software (many can also be downloaded locally).
According to Jason Schreier The manufacturer would bring its new PS Plus to the market “various successful games in recent years”, but the next PS5 exclusives wouldn’t be available on day one like Game Pass. In order to preserve its original productions and still encourage purchases, Sony would rather opt for large demos (EA Play style), inclusive.
What if Project Spartacus was just the tree that hides the forest?
A new PS Plus and more PS5 announcements this week?
Greg Miller, known in the industry for his podcast Kinda Funny, also hints this week will be big for PlayStation.
This could be a very interesting week for PlayStation if any of the three rumors I’ve heard are true. For this reason, we are rescheduling the PS I Love You XOXO podcast to Thursday.
The deadline of this Thursday, March 31, for Sony and other Japanese companies corresponds to the end of their current fiscal year. Therefore, announcing a PS Plus overhaul that brings in revenue from the PlayStation branch, or even other things – like a buyout – would be the perfect moment.
