While Ghost of Tsushima awaits its sequel, it continues to receive updates, in this case with a new patch that integrates a highly anticipated feature.
With the release of the PC port of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch still has to work on this first groundbreaking work in parallel with the development of Ghost of Tsushima 2. This comes in the form of a new update that includes a feature that has been anticipated since the arrival of the PC version on May 16.
The legend of Ghost of Tsushima continues to be written in haiku
Things seem to be going very well in the feudal Japan imag ined by Sucker Punch. Already a huge success on PS4 and then PS5, Ghost of Tsushima has proven to be a real hit on PC. The only downside is that a cooperative mode called Legends does not allow a combination of PC and console players. The initial flaw was a controversial Sony requirement to use a PSN account. Even if the Japanese giant has since reversed its decision, the PC version of the game is still inaccessible today for many countries where the network is not available.
For others, however, Sucker Punch recently deployed patch 2.24 on PS4 and PS5. This finally adds crossplay for Legends, the game’s co-op mode. This means that PC and console players will finally be able to tackle the stories surrounding the island of Tsushima together, allowing Jin Sakai to get some rest in the hot spring.
A way like any other to wait for a now more than expected Ghost of Tsushima 2. However, this one may still leave a lot to be desired. As Jason Schreier recently noted: “ The development of a AAA takes five to seven years. And Sucker Punch is a smaller team than most AAA studios “. Therefore, taking into account that the first opus was released on PS4 in 2020, the sequel could arrive somewhere between 2025 and 2027. Whether Sony decides to release it simultaneously on PS5 (Pro?) and PC by then, or whether it will maintain its temporary exclusivity policy on consoles, only the wind can lead us to the truth.
