Razer doesn't want to fall asleep on the laurels, the gaming market is very competitive and new products do not stop coming out that, in many occasions, are better than the previous ones. In his day we published the analysis of the Razer DeathAdder Elite, a mouse designed for eSports that we liked a lot. Not only is it quite comfortable, also accurate and customizable. On the other hand, it is a mouse only for right-handed people. In addition, another of the negative points in the analysis was the price. The latter cannot currently be applied, in online stores like Amazon it is possible to buy it for about 50 euros.
Razer wanted to improve DeathAdder Elite, and that is why he has released DeathAdder V2, a mouse that although it has undergone few changes on the outside, we cannot say the same inside. We find many new features, some very interesting. Having said that, Is it worth changing DeathAdder Elite for the new model? It is best to see what it offers and how it behaves when playing. Before we begin the analysis, we have to thank Razer for letting us try a DeathAdder V2 unit.

Razer DeathAdder V2
Razer DeathAdder V2 comes in a fairly small box, with no frills. There is simply a mouse image, the Razer logo and a brief description of its characteristics. Inside comes the mouse in a plastic mold, the user manual and a few stickers.
Once we take the mouse out of the box, the first thing that catches our attention is the design. Razer has decided to largely maintain the design of the DeathAdder Elite model. The scroll wheel and the buttons to change the DPI are different. At the bottom we find the button Profile, serves to switch between the different profiles that we can save in the integrated memory. As for touch, it feels a bit rougher plastic if we compare it with DeathAdder Elite. One thing that should be mentioned, although it can be seen in the images, is a right handed mouse.
On the left side there are two well located buttons. By default, one of them serves to go back in the web browser. However, all buttons are programmable using Razer Synapse software. By the way, on both sides there are rubber grips.
If we take a look at the right side, there is nothing. In the image you will see below you can see better the rubber grip that I just commented. It perfectly fulfills its function, improve support.
But what does it offer regarding DeathAdder Elite? This new mouse has a new optical sensor, Focus +, which supports up to 20,000 PPP, the mechanical switches have increased their durability to 70 million clicks, it has 8 programmable buttons, a Razer speedflex cable, a lighter design (82 grams), the base has teflon for better displacement, allows several memory profiles and a better touch of the wheel. On the outside they are very similar, you just have to see the following image. On the right the new DeathAdder V2, on the left the DeathAdder Elite model.
To test the DeathAdder V2 mouse I played titles like Destiny 2, Rage 2, CS: GO, Gears 5, Halo: Reach and League of Legends. The truth is that I could notice an improvement if I bought it with DeathAdder Elite. In rapid movements the accuracy has improved. Also, being a quite ergonomic mouse that weighs very little We can play many hours without the hand getting tired. The touch of the scroll wheel is softer since offers less resistance. Although in general the difference between both mice is noticeable, but it is not very large either.
When it comes to playing quieter and non-competitive games, it could be that the user experience is practically the same as DeathAdder Elite offers. Here the difference is made by the Teflon base, it allows a smoother shift over most surfaces.
Razer Synapse software
If we want to take advantage of all the features of the new DeathAdder V2, we must install Razer Synapse. You could say that this software is indispensable if we have a product of the brand. To start, it serves to customize the mouse and create profiles Assigning a function to each button.
In the performance tab is everything related to sensitivity. There are five levels, all of them can be edited and change the values to our liking
When talking about a gaming mouse could not miss the lighting. DeathAdder V2 has Razer Chroma RGB lighting. Using the Razer software it is possible to adjust the brightness and change the effects. The colors are customizable.
Although once we take the mouse out of the box it is well calibrated, it is possible to improve the calibration so you have a higher level of accuracy. We have two options, smart tracking and manual calibration.
It is not mandatory to use Razer Synapse, as it comes the configured mouse works really well. However, it does not make much sense to buy such a complete mouse and then not enjoy everything it offers.
conclusion
After trying DeathAdder V2 for a few weeks, I can say that it is certainly an improvement over DeathAdder Elite. Razer has done a good job. If you are looking for a gaming mouse Will not disappoint you. If you have the Elite model I would say that it is not worth the change since the difference between the two is not very big. If we talk about money, Razer DeathAdder V2 is worth 79.99 euros, the same as DeathAdder Elite cost when it was launched.
Razer DeathAdder V2 is worth it if we like competitive games or if we play titles where precision is very important. Also if when buying a mouse we take into account that it is comfortable. Then Razer's new mouse It is at the height. Otherwise, there are cheaper alternatives that also offer a good user experience. Last but not least, you have to keep in mind that it is a right-handed mouse. We don't know if Razer will release a left-handed or ambidextrous version.
