Details about Endor Season 2 are scarce at this time, but it looks like Ben Mendelsohn will be reprising his role as the villain from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Now, we’re all waiting for more information on Rogue One season 2, but there isn’t a lot of info available just yet. It seems unlikely that it will hit theaters until 2024, but if that’s how long it takes to get a second season, so be it. However, the show’s star Diego Luna appeared at the ACE Super Hero Comic Con this weekend, where he revealed some information about the upcoming season. “I can tell you that Rogue One is coming out, so you’re going to recognize some of the characters,” Luna said. “There’s going to be cool stuff. For people who loved Rogue One, this season is going to be really special.”

While he didn’t specify who Rogue One fans will recognize, The Playlist reports that person is Ben Mendelsohn, who will reprise his role as the film’s villain Orson Krennic. As The Playlist notes, series creator Tony Gilroy told the outlet that season 2 will pull back on events from the original film, so it’s believed he’ll show up at the end of Season 2. “The final scene of our show is public,” he said. “It will be [Cassian] Cross the tarmac, board the shuttle, and head to the Ring of Cavron to meet Daniel Mays, who is headed there.”
This is obviously exciting news for those who are particularly fond of Mendelssohn’s performances, or who just like to point at the screen and say “that’s Chappie” style when they recognize a character.
While there aren’t a ton of plot details, Gilroy has also previously said that season 2 will cover roughly four years of Cassian’s life, jumping around different time periods throughout the series. For now, we can only wait to hear more, so stay tuned—D23 is only a few months away and there are usually tons of announcements, so maybe you’ll get lucky!
