Google is rolling out 9 new features for apps, Android and Wear OS to coincide with the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Including a new widget and shortcuts.
- Google releases updates for Android apps and services that bring a total of nine new features.
- The new function in Chrome is still in beta, but should be rolled out to everyone in March.
From February 27th to March 2nd, manufacturers such as Samsung and Xiaomi will be presenting various innovations at the Mobile World Congress. The Android developer Google is also releasing new features for Android, Chromebooks and Wear OS.
These new features come with the updates
in one Blogpost Google introduces the new features. They would lead to more productivity, allow customization and bring audio improvements. These features are new:
- New widget for Google Keep: The Google Keep Single Note Widget shows you notes and lists right on the home screen. In addition, changes you make with the widget are also synchronized with your smartwatch.
- Keep shortcuts for smartwatches: With Google Keep and a smartwatch, you can now create new notes and to-do lists with a shortcut.
- Annotate PDFs easily: In the Google Drive app for Android, you can now mark parts of PDF documents with a stylus to comment on places. With a highlighter tool you should be able to save important text.
- Noise cancellation on Google Meet Google Meet now has the ability to filter out background noise with Noise Cancellation.
- Bluotooth improvement for Chromebooks: In Google’s laptop operating system, you can link your Bluetooth headphones with just a few clicks. If the headphones are already known to the Chromebook, they will be connected automatically.
- More combinations at Emoji Kitchen: New combinations related to basketballs and flowers have been introduced to the app.
- Tap to Pay-Animationen: Happy penguins and other animations embellish the payment process in Google Wallet.
- Zoom content in Chrome beta: In the latest Chrome browser beta, you can increase the size of the displayed content by up to 300 percent. The setting remains even after closing the app if you set the desired magnification as the default. The feature will be available to everyone from March.
- New sound and display modes in Wear OS 3+: The new audio mode “Mono Audio” should help with possible disorientation when using “Split Audio”. With “Color Correction” and a “Grayscale” mode, you also have more choice for the display.
Chrome magnification requires you to have the beta version of the browser. Then you can access the new feature in the settings under “Accessibility” or “Accessibility”.
