What’s new in Android 15
In May 2024, Google revealed at its Google I/O developer conference that artificial intelligence will be the focus of the new Android version. The Gemini AI will replace the Google Assistant and, among other things, will offer better audio feedback and real-time warnings about spam calls.

There are also various rumors about possible new features, but Google has not yet confirmed them. For example, lines of code in the source code of a test version of Android 15 indicate a new Bluetooth function. If you wish, your cell phone should automatically switch it on again after 24 hours if you forget it.
In the future, Android 15 will only view power supplies with a charging capacity of 20 watts or more as fast charging power supplies and will symbolize this on the screen when charging the cell phone.
There are also rumors of an improvement in the algorithm for switching off the display. This could significantly improve the battery life of your cell phone. Furthermore, Google is rumored to be revamping Android 15’s desktop mode.

When will Android 15 be released?

Officially, Google no longer gives code names for a new Android version, but this tradition is continued internally. At least we know that the code name of the software is “Vanilla Ice Cream” and that it joins the ranks of Google’s dessert updates. Honor promises two OS updates for its phones. Accordingly, the following smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer are expected to receive the update to Android 15:
