Sony has announced Android 12 for more Xperia models. Honor reveals when you can expect Android 12 for the Honor 50 and 50 Lite. Google also gives a preview of Android 13.

Honor releases a roadmap for Android 12 for the Honor 50 series and reveals when you can expect the update. Sony is also announcing an update for other devices. Samsung rolls out a “speed update” for the S22 series. It was also announced which camera features will be included in older cell phones.
These are the most important Android update messages of the week:
Xiaomi
Xiaomi has only rolled out OS updates for two years. With the new Xiaomi 11T Pro, the period has been extended to three years. The new Xiaomi 12 series should also benefit from this step.
Sony
Sony is still rolling out Android 12. Now the company is announcing that two more models will get the update – the Xperia 10 II and 10 III. It is still unclear when the update will be rolled out.
Honor
Honor has revealed when the Honor 50 and 50 Lite should be considered with Android 12. The update should appear in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of 2022. What innovations you can look forward to is still uncertain.
Samsung
Samsung has throttled the performance of thousands of apps. According to the company, the GOS (Game Optimization Service) was to blame. With a new update you should be able to regulate the throttling on the S22.
The manufacturer also reveals which camera features of the Galaxy S22 series will be distributed to older devices. With the upcoming update to One UI 4.1 you will receive new features such as night portrait, animal detection, telephoto portrait video, lighting adjustment, as well as Snapchat integration and the Director’s View.
Google
There are many new features included in the March Feature Drop of the Month. But you can only use some if you update a system component beforehand. The Pixel Camera Services update is now available on the Google Play Store.
Furthermore, Google has given the Contacts app an update. The hamburger menu should partially disappear and be replaced by a bar at the bottom of the screen. This should contain the items “Contacts” and “Repair and Manage”.
Android 12
A new Android 12 version has appeared in the beta channel. The Android 12 QPR3 Beta 1 is the first test version of the “Quarterly Platform Release”, i.e. the next feature drop in June.
A layout error is currently causing a stir in Android 12L. Since the operating system is aimed at foldable cell phones and tablets, the display sizes vary enormously. This currently creates a bug that causes background colors, bars, and other UI elements to be offset.
Android 13
Furthermore, Google released the second developer preview of Android 13 this week. This reveals more new features.
