This week some Xiaomi phones have received a new update. With this you get the Android 12 operating system and the MIUI 13 user interface. OnePlus, Realme and LG also have news on the subject of “Android updates”.
Xiaomi
The Chinese company Xiaomi starts distributing Android 12 and MIUI 13 for the Poco F3. You get a sidebar that you can use to launch apps faster. Also included are improvements to the accessibility and mind map applications.
The Xiaomi 11T is also equipped with the current operating system. You can also look forward to the same innovations as the Poco F3. The update is about three gigabytes in size.
Although Android 12 has been available for some time, the new Poco X4 Pro and M4 Pro models ship with Android 11 out of the box. The devices should be tested internally with Android 12. However, there is no official date for the rollout yet.
LG
Although LG no longer produces new cell phones, it is distributing the update to Android 12 as promised. The LG Velvet will soon be considered for the update. However, the company does not reveal which new features are included.
OnePlus
OnePlus is making the first open beta of Android 12 available for the smartphones in the OnePlus 8 series. You can already download the APK files and install them on your device. The new firmware contains many innovations.
Google
The phone app should now also shine in the “Material You” design of Android 12. The keypad should look similar to that of the lock screen. In addition, the numbers are displayed in black and thus offer a higher contrast.

Realme promises longer updates for the smartphones of the GT 2 series. The models will receive Android updates for three years and security patches for four years. It is currently still uncertain whether this applies to other devices.
