We already knew that Animal Crossing: New Horizons, released on March 20, had a blistering start in the United States and Japan. We now know its first official global sales figures, freshly communicated by Nintendo in its latest financial statement.
Two figures are put forward by Nintendo: first, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has passed 11.77 million copies in just eleven days worldwide. This data takes into account the physical versions distributed to resellers (bundles included) and sales for download from the eShop. The Japanese manufacturer adds that in six weeks 13.41 million copies have been sold to consumers in the three main markets (United States, Japan, Europe). New Horizons thus officially seizes the title of best-selling opus in the Animal Crossing franchise, since New Leaf (3DS) and Wild World (DS) sold 12.55 million and 11.75 million copies respectively . Also remember that it is already the best-selling Switch game in Japan on the physical market.
