As the developers put it so nicely: Similar to the four seasons, Anno 1800 also comes to an end after the fourth season.
A few things are still planned for 2023: there should be more cosmetic packs after the Drachengarten DLC and the big Game Update 17 is in the starting blocks. This could even be the last major update for Anno 1800

This is also supported by the fact that the developers are collecting wishes and feedback from the community this time – in order to make all Anno dreams come true before they probably concentrate more on their mysterious new Anno project and the console version.

On the official blog, the Anno developers announce the next update as the “anniversary update”. In addition to the usual bug fixes, it should also contain numerous quality-of-life improvements and new features that have drastically changed and improved the game since its release.

Because unlike previous game updates, the anniversary update will initially take place as a playtest in which a lot of feedback and wishes from the community will be collected. It says: »We would be happy if you help us test the update and give us feedback on which aspects still need to be worked out or which improvements are still necessary.«
Sounds a little like goodbye. And even before that, the developers announced a few patches and “a game update in spring” for 2023 – there don’t seem to be any other big plans, at least for the time being.
