Resident Evil 2, 3 and 7 are getting better thanks to a free update for the new gen and PC. Improved frame rate, ray tracing, 3D audio and DualSense, we go around the changes in images.
It’s not Resident Evil 9, but it’s free, so make sure to grab it. Capcom announces this the arrival of RE2, RE3 and RE7 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC in 2022.
Nice changes in the future (ray tracing, etc.)
Christmas is far behind us, but Santa Capcom pulls a nice present out of his hood. This year, at an as yet unknown date, the publisher will do so update for free Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes as well as Resident Evil 7 to offer “modernized visual renderings“.
The three titles running under the RE Engine are beautified with You ray tracing and higher frame rate (Certainly stable 60fps everywhere, even a 120fps mode). Improvements common to all platforms at no additional cost if you own the games. Otherwise, keep an eye on the various stores as these episodes are often on sale. You can even get a free copy of RE7 on PS5 as long as you have an active PS Plus subscription.
And while we’re at it, Capcom has confirmed it 3D audio and DualSense support on PlayStation 5. The soundscape was already excellent, but the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers could push the immersion up a notch. When the developers really got their hands dirty.
The removed content from Resident Evil 3 will not be restored
On paper, the promise of an “ultimate” version of RE2’s excellent remake sounds enticing. Additionally, this free update could be an opportunity to further improve the PlayStation VR version of RE7. At least we hope so, although Capcom’s press release makes no mention of it.
For RE3, however, this patch will not solve the problems of this revisit (deleted locations, even more action, a nemesis banished as a vulgar second knife…)
Did you finish these episodes or will it be pure discovery? Will you try a Resident Evil 7 virtual reality game? Tell us everything Remarks.
