PSN is hit by a massive global outage. Everything is broken on PS5 and PS4 and players are completely helpless. But what happens?
What has happened since last night, or at least late in the night from September 30th to September 1st?Is October 2024? This is the question asked by millions of PS5 and PS4 players who have not been able to enjoy PSN for a long time. At the time of writing, nothing is working and all the lights are bright red.
The PSN has stopped working, there is a general outage
PSN is currently experiencing a global outage, no matter whether you play PS5 or PS4. It happens quite rarely, even in the event of an error, but on the website where you can see the state of PlayStation services in real time, everything is red and nothing works anymore. Account Management, Games & Social, PlayStation Video and the PlayStation Store are all broken and no longer work for anyone. Again, the problem with this general PSN crash is that in addition to the multiplayer modes being inaccessible, any games that require a mandatory connection will also be out of order, even if you want to play alone. Because every time everything goes off the rails, that compelling connection issue resurfaces and impacts players’ systems, and rightly so.
At the time of writing, Sony has not revealed a reason for this crash. We don’t yet know if this is another attack on the PSN or a bug that has nothing to do with it at all. There is silence on social networks for the time being, although the players have reacted violently since yesterday evening.
Therefore, there is currently no or no solution to benefit from PSN. We’ll have to wait for Sony to find a solution to this widespread outage in the hope that it doesn’t last much longer.
