It has to be said that there isn’t much to say about the Star Wars Kotor remake at the moment. But things could change.
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake is still very mysterious and we know absolutely nothing about it since its announcement. All we know is that the game will be available on PS5 and PC. But recently Embracer Group, which owns the Aspyr Media studio behind the game prepared its financial report
Any news on Star Wars games?
Matthew Karch, board member of Embracer Grouper and CEO of Saber Interactive (which is also involved in the development of this Star Wars game), stated that the game was “essentially” made from the ground up.
“Aspyr has done everything to make this game the best they can make. When we took over Aspyr, we knew from the start that they would need our help. Saber has immense expertise in developing these games. This on Halo – on several Halo products – we’ve done this on other titles that we’ve remastered on other platforms.
We absolutely believe this Star Wars Kotor game is going to be awesome, but it’s a huge product, and huge products take a lot of effort and time to make it work well. And because we’re talking about a game that’s already old – very old – we basically had to make this game from scratch. I would say that you will be hearing more about this over the next few months.
Except PS5
The Saber Interactive CEO also hinted at the deal Sony has struck for the remake, securing it as a PS5 exclusive (although the game will also be released on PC). In short, there is no doubt that many are waiting for this game, which is still considered to this day to be the best Star Wars game in history.
