We love him even though he could turn us off in a second. We’re talking about ex-soldier Jack Reacher. The muscle-bound giant fought his way into the hearts of his fans – but at the same time proved again and again that he also has a gentle side.
With the series adaptation, Amazon has hit the jackpot in recent years. Because the show is extremely popular with both fans and critics, for example IMDb-Rating of 8.0 stars shows.
Now Amazon announces MGM Studios (via Deadline), that there will be a spin-off in addition to a third season.
What do we already know about the spin-off?
Although the project doesn’t have a name yet, it will be about Reacher’s best friend Francis Neagley (Maria Sten). She is no stranger to fans of the main series, as she is also an ex-soldier and regularly supports her colleague on his dangerous missions.
What is known about the plot? In her own series, Neagley will work as a private investigator in Chicago. There she learns that a former friend died in an apparent accident. To find out what really happened, she’ll need everything she’s learned from Reacher and the military.
Now you’re probably wondering if there will be a reunion with Reacher – a guest appearance has actually already been confirmed!
The series is written and co-produced by Nick Santora – the showrunner of Reacher. Also on board is Nicholas Wootton, who most recently worked with Santora on the series Prison Break.

The show is based on the book series of the same name by Lee Child, which consists of 29 books and is about the ex-soldier Jack Reacher.
Season 1 focused on the plot of the first novel, Killing Floor, in which Reacher (Alan Ritchson) uncovers criminal activity in the idyllic small town of Margrave. The second season took the material from the eleventh volume, Bad Luck and Trouble, where he tries to solve the murder of a former military colleague.
When is Reacher season 3 coming?
We currently know that it is probably in spring 2025 will continue. The plot of the third season focuses on the third book in the Persuader series. Reacher goes to Maine, where he has to go undercover to rescue an informant. He is being pursued by an enemy from his past.
