Respawn Entertainment will continue to provide you with new promotions in the long-running hit Apex Legends on a regular basis in the new year. It will start with a cross-over event with Final Fantasy.
The limited-time event “Apex Legends X Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth” is scheduled to start in a few days. From January 9, 2024, the world of the JRPG epic Final Fantasy will come into the universe of the battle royale title.
The focus is then on a new, temporarily available mode called “Takeover”. Takeover Mode replaces the unranked Battle Royale mode for three weeks. In this you can fight with the armored sword R2R5, fend off bullets, activate a powerful limit and more. New effects include area effects, lightning, and TP absorption. In additi on, Nessie soldier fights at your side.
In addition to fresh gameplay and new weapons, the event also brings you cosmetic items, including a Moogle skin for Wattson as well as iconic skins for Wraith, Crypto and more. These can each be purchased with Apex Coins and are part of a total of 36 limited-time cosmetic items based on Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth.
They are available through the purchase of Event Packs, through which you can obtain items from the Knockout Pool, including the Armored Sword R5, the first Mythic cosmetic item that can be equipped by all Legends. You can watch a trailer for the cross-over event below.
