The World Wide Developer Conference 2022 (WWDC) will take place in a few weeks. Among other things, Apple will present the new operating system for iPhones iOS 16. The closer the conference gets, the more dense the rumors about the possible innovations. Recent guesses point to interactive widgets.
The information comes from Mark Gurman, a tech editor at Bloomberg and an Apple expert. In his newsletter (via MacRumors) he talks about the fact that Apple’s new operating system iOS 16 new ways of interacting and some fresh Apple apps
should contain.
However, Gurman does not reveal exactly what is meant by the new types of interaction. MacRumors speculates that these could be interactive widgets. After all, these were already expected in the last version, i.e. iOS 15, but Apple fans were disappointed in this respect.

The interactive widgets would give iPhone users the ability to interact with specific apps without opening them and see important information at a glance. The current widgets already do the latter. For example, you can see which song is playing, how the weather is, or where you are on the map.
However, the interactive version of the widgets goes one step further. You could then, for example, pause the music or skip to the next song without opening the app. With Maps you can display restaurants in the area or quickly navigate to a specific destination.
Which functions such interactive widgets use ultimately depends on the developers. As a first step, Apple would have to support this with the new operating system.

New Apple apps and watchOS 9
To the fresh apple apps
Gurman does not say another word in his newsletter. Apparently, however, we can expect new applications that we haven’t seen from Apple before. The journalist also predicts significant updates to watchOS 9, Apple’s operating system for the Apple Watch.
Otherwise everything stays the same. Gurman doesn’t expect any major design changes. WWDC takes place between June 6th and 10th. Then at the latest we will find out what changes will come to iPhone owners with iOS 16. Until then, however, we have already thought about what Apple could change in the operating system.
