On February 2nd the time has come: The Apple Vision Pro appears on the market, but unfortunately only in the USA for the time being. So we’ll have to wait a little longer until we can hold the $3,500 device in our hands, right?
Not quite. With just a few simple steps you can also use the Apple Vision Pro in Europey. But there are a few things to consider if you want to import the latest Apple device.
By the way: pre-orders are already possible. You can read more about it here:
Apple Vision Pro: Release date is now officially set
Use Apple Vision Pro in Europey
Apple ID: Same as Apple 9to5Mac confirmed, you need an Apple ID with the USA region set to be able to download something with Vision Pro from the App Store. To do this, you must provide an address in the United States when registering. The same goes for Apple Music and Apple TV.
Payment method for apps: In addition, you will only be able to use free apps as long as you have not provided a payment method. However, if you want to use a credit card for this, you must use an American card.
Not every service is available: Some content, apps and functions are said to be unavailable due to licensing reasons. It is not yet known which services will not be available.
Language: The Apple Vision Pro will initially only be used in the US. This applies to both text and voice input. Siri and the dictation function are also initially only available in English.
Important for people who wear glasses: Apple uses their partner Zeiss to ship prescription lenses. However, you cannot use this service in Europey and there are two reasons for this:
- Zeiss only ships to addresses within the USA
- Zeiss only accepts prescriptions written by physicians in the United States
Unfortunately, it is currently unclear whether you will also have the option to insert other lenses.
No support: Apple only offers support for the 3,500 euro device within the USA. So if something is wrong with your Apple Vision Pro, it could be difficult to fix the problem.
It is not yet known when Apple plans to release it outside the USA.
Now the question is: What do you think of Apple Vision Pro? Will you import Apple’s latest gadget or would you rather wait and see? How do you want to use the Vision Pro? Tell us in the comments below!
