Remember Arc Raiders? It debuted at the 2021 Game Awards and immediately became a hit… and then it disappeared.
But today, the game suddenly resurfaced and showed a very cool trailer, which has once again sparked heated discussions. At the Gamescom opening night scene, the trailer showed that the game is still struggling in development hell and will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC next year. In theory.
I’ve written about the game extensively in the past, and everything I loved back then still looks cool now — even its graphics have seen a bit of an upgrade.

Arc Raiders will be the first game from Embark Studios — the new company founded by former EA executive Patrick Soderlund — and will have players defending Earth from a mysterious mechanical threat from outer space. It will be a free-to-play co-op game targeted for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. That was the case in 2021, and it remains the case with the game’s new release date of 2025.
Check out the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis: Players will fight to survive and carve out a life on the Speranza colony. After Earth is devastated by a mechanical threat called the ARC, scavenging and finding resources has become necessary to evacuate the surface and return safely. ARC Raiders will be available on PlayStation 5 (PS5), Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) in 2025, with a public technical test running from October 24 to October 27.
