The Ancient Times 2 The weekend got a stunning new trailer showing off some gameplay from the upcoming sequel to the hit action MMORPG.
In addition to this trailer, XLGames CEO Jake Song also released some information about the game, including the news that the game is coming to PC and consoles. Sadly, there’s no word on a release date or release window, just giving the hint of “soon” as its intended release.
For those who don’t know, Archeage has been humming along as one of the few popular MMOs still alive and thriving in the modern ecosystem. Since its relaunch in 2019, it has attracted more than 20 million registered users. While it’s particularly popular in the East, it’s also built a healthy base of American and EU adventure players.
As for what’s in store for the original overhaul, aside from the visuals, Jake Song mentioned that the in-game trading system will be enhanced as well as housing and customization. They even expressed their desire for players to “live in town with friends, even [create] their own towns and their guild members. “
Now does seem like a good time to be an MMO fan. With World of Warcraft; Dragonflight coming out and fixing most of that game’s problems, Archeage 2 pushing the visual standard, and Riot Games tinkering with their own projects behind the scenes, it’s hard to distance yourself from the genre right now.
