Ark: Survival Ascendan upcoming replacement/remake of survival evolvedhas been postponed to October.
As announced in a community blog post, the remake of the online survival game will be released sometime in October, though an exact date has yet to be confirmed. It’s worth noting that this version will now be an early access release, and there’s even another price point: $45, though a launch discount will set it at $40 for now.To give you an update, here’s where things stand: developer Studio Wildcard has announced that it’s shutting down Survival Evolved to make way for Survival Ascension, which makes you pay $49.99 for a game you theoretically already own, and then it makes finished more After the rebound, it was expensive, and now it is cheap again. According to a blog post, Studio Wildcard “found working with Unreal Engine 5.2 to be challenging, but at the same time very exciting. We’re discovering new ways to push the technology to the next level every day; a combination of work that needs to be done to support consoles and With a fully cross-platform, moddable game ecosystem on PC, it’s clear we need more time.”
The post also states that the reason the game costs less now is because it doesn’t offer as much content as was planned at launch. The Early Access version is usually cheaper than the full version, so don’t expect it to stay at $45 forever. Among other delays, the Scorched Earth expansion is due in December, and Ragnarok and Aberration are due in 2024.
For those still playing Ark: Survival Evolved, the servers will go offline on September 30th, so you’ll have about a month of extra play time.
Whether or not Ark: Survival Ascend launches in October, when it does, you’ll be able to play it on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
