The insider sparrows were already whistling it from the rooftops, now it’s official: Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, the new mech action game from From Software, has a date.
From Software has become one of the most popular and successful studios thanks to the Souls games, Bloodborne or Elden Ring, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that the studio also created Armored Core a long time ago.
The Mech series reboot is getting a reboot with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, we’ve known that for a while. Now the insider rumors of the last few days have been confirmed, because the game now also has a release date and that is, as expected, August 25, 2023.
Why is? On the remote planet Rubicon 3, the mysterious new substance “Coral” has been discovered. As a source of energy, it was intended to drastically improve humanity’s technological and communication skills. Instead, she unleashed a cataclysm that lashed the planet and surrounding stars with storms of flame, turning it into a burning star system.
Almost half a century later, Coral was rediscovered on the disaster-ravaged Rubicon 3. Non-Earth corporations and resistance groups are fighting for control of the substance. Infiltrating Rubicon as independent mercenaries, you find yourself caught up in the wars of corporations and other factions for substance, engaging in fierce combat in highly mobile and customizable mechs.
Logically, parallel to the announcement, the pre-order phase is now starting and the agony of choice is complicated, because publisher Bandai Namco has come up with five editions that will be released for PC via Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
The Standard Edition includes the game, who would have thought it. The Deluxe Edition also includes a digital art book and the soundtrack. The Launch Edition does without the digital content, but treats you to stickers, posters and maps. The Collectors Edition is better filled and includes badges, the digital soundtrack, an art book, a steel book and a figure in addition to the content of the Launch Edition. The Premium Edition also adds a garage for the figure.
The cute Premium Edition is only available in the Bandai Namco Store and you have to dig deep into your pocket for it – a whopping 449.99 dollars are incurred for it. Uff.
To increase the anticipation even further, there is not only a new gameplay trailer under this news, but also one Entry in the Playstation blogwhere you can find more details and a number of pictures of the game.
