As they often do, the Helldivers 2 community managed to save the latest Major Order title for a last-minute big push – one that may or may not succeed in time. In a move that probably didn’t help the heroic massive charge, Arrowhead has now finally decided to release a video showing us its mysterious game master, Joel. Oh, sorry, Joel.
First, how is MO going as of this writing? Super Earth forces have successfully captured four of the five planets they need to take in order to wrest power back from the Automata and their new railguns. Wasat, Vega Bay, Varylia 5, and Ustotu are all in the hands of the Super Earths, leaving only Wezen.

What’s the problem? Well, Wezen currently has only a 25.82% liberation rate, and there are less than 7 and a half hours left on the MO clock. At the current rate, Wezen will fail, but only after the deadline passes. So unless some players on Reddit who haven’t given up yet try to make a move in the next few hours, it may fail this time.
To be fair, it looks like the new personal order Arrowhead just deployed now just says “Kill 5” and doesn’t tell you what you should actually kill, so that’s probably not going to be distracting.
The distraction is a video Arrowhead posted to its social media, giving us our first official look at Hellraiser 2’s infamous game master, Joel, or JOEL for short. This is clearly just for fun, unless Joel really is a faceless creature in a hoodie who uses the Force – or just the power of his screams – to push you away if you get too close and cough.

To be fair, it turns out it’s the kind of entity that can ping everyone on a Discord server without having to spend 20 minutes hyping up/mildly panicking beforehand, so there’s a trace to that. Naturally, being a video game, some players have been scouring the video for any potential teasers of a galactic war that Arrowhead might be involved in, but it seems like all they’ve ended up finding is a nice chule, unless the glowing red planet in the video is indeed a planet they haven’t visited, as some have speculated.
