In response to some discussions about the recently unearthed Termind model appearing on the game’s Discord server, a community manager for Helldivers 2 has highlighted to players why such leaks are not acknowledged or accepted through official channels.
In recent months, a number of models and images of what appear to be hidden backends of the game have appeared on Reddit, some of which are related to the long-rumored new faction member The Illuminate. The latest to appear are some Terminid models, one of which is a Bile Charger, which according to the leaker explodes into a pool of acid upon death, and another is The Impaler from the first batch of Helldivers.

Some player discussion of the findings appears to have seeped from Reddit to Helldivers 2’s official Discord server, prompting an Arrowhead community manager to outline the studio’s current stance on the leak in response to people’s inquiries on the matter.
“The thing is, to provide some context, we never comment or discuss leaked content. Why? It’s not good for us or you,” they said. “Sure, we know some people are curious. That said, what comes out of the datamine could be abandoned ideas, outdated stuff, newer stuff, work in progress, or confirmed stuff to the best of our knowledge, but since users never know what’s what – first and foremost, we want to provide new content as a surprise to players, rather than blurting out everything that may or may not have been planned ahead of time – we don’t talk too much about it.”
“Let it be, let it be, good things come to those who wait, etc.,” they added, “I hope this is satisfying, or at least explains why we don’t discuss these issues.”
So, there you have it. Galaxy Wars may be at a standstill in terms of new and interesting developments at the moment, so it’s understandable that people are paying more attention than ever to what the data miners are doing, but maybe take the results you see with a grain of salt and don’t expect them all to appear in the game.
