On June 12th, the Ubisoft Forward Showcase will rise and the company will present a number of upcoming titles in more detail. Now it’s clear: Another Assassin’s Creed, which hasn’t been shown yet, will also be part of the game.
When this year’s edition of Ubisoft Forward is broadcast on June 12th, not only the well-known Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, which has recently been provided with a release date and gameplay trailer, will be part of the game. Ubisoft has now confirmed that at least one other Assassin’s Creed game that hasn’t been revealed to date will also be shown.
What is meant in this case is Assass in’s Creed: Nexus, which will be presented for the first time at Ubisoft Forward. This is the already confirmed virtual reality title of the franchise, about which the company has so far kept a low profile beyond the official announcement.
Assassin’s Creed: Nexus was originally confirmed as part of a virtual Oculus Quest event in 2020 and has been in the works at Red Storm Entertainment ever since. On the occasion of yesterday’s Meta Quest Showcase, it was now announced that Nexus will also appear for this platform; in this context, the appearance at the Ubisoft Forward was then officially sealed.
What can we expect from Nexus? After all, the rumor mill was already bubbling up about the game. According to this, we could expect a total of 16 missions in virtual reality that play at different times in the Assassin’s Creed timeline. Ezio from Assassin’s Creed II will play the main role in six missions, Cassandra from Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey can be seen in four missions, Connoy and Haytham from Assassin’s Creed III in five and one level respectively.
Furthermore, it should be a more linear title that does not rely on the open game world like other games in the franchise. There are also no side missions, but the levels contained are suitable for a return.
