When it comes to Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft has all sorts of new games in the works, but at least some of it is now reportedly coming onto the market later than previously planned – namely Assassin’s Creed: Jade.
The next main part of the Assassin’s Creed series will be Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red, which will reportedly be presented in the summer and published in autumn 2024. In addition, Assassin’s Creed: Jade was also considered a title that could possibly come onto the market in 2024 – but according to a new report, nothing will come of it.
The renowned magazine Reuters has now published this new report, according to which Assassin’s Creed: Jade will unfortunately be delayed until next year 2025. The reason for this is restructuring at the development partner Tencent, with which Ubisoft is cooperating for this title.
According to anonymous sources consulted by Reuters, Tencent has redeployed hundreds of employees who were previously working on Assassin’s Creed: Jade. Many members of the development team are said to have been withdrawn in order to first complete the mobile party game DreamStar.
Ubisoft has not yet commented on this report and the resulting possible consequences for the release date of Assassin’s Creed: Jade. Until now, the rumor mill had assumed that Jade would be released in 2024 – even if there was no official announcement yet.
Assassin’s Creed: Jade is a mobile spin-off of the successful series that takes you to ancient China. The first gameplay from the game was leaked in 2023, including two hours of gameplay footage last August. If the speculation about the delay turns out to be true, all eyes will finally be on the promising main part Assassin’s Creed: Red this year, which will bring with it the often desired setting in feudal Japan.
