Ubisoft has just announced that the release date of Assassin’s Creed: Shadow has been pushed back from the originally planned November 12, 2024 to February 14, 2025. So, you’ll have to wait a little longer to see the beautiful clouds over feudal Japan.
“[Shadows] “It’s an ambitious addition to the series,” Ubisoft’s Mark Alexis Cote wrote in a statement on social media. “It’s a rich experience for players to experience through the eyes of two unique protagonists – but we realize we need more time to polish and refine the experience and further push some of our key features.”

“As a result, we have decided to push the release date back to February 14, 2025. The game will be released on multiple platforms, including Steam. Additionally, pre-orders will be refunded and all future pre-orders will receive the first expansion pack for free.”
According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, Ubisoft also added: “We are moving away from the traditional season pass model. All players will be able to enjoy the game at the same time on February 14.” According to Variety, the publisher also said that their decision to delay the release of the game was “based on lessons learned from the release of Star Wars: Outlaws.”

The official statement above continued: “We understand this decision will be disappointing news, especially for those who have been patiently waiting for Assassin’s Creed inspired by feudal Japan, but we sincerely believe it is in the best interest of the game and ultimately your experience as a player.”
