Ubisoft has now confirmed that several remakes of classics from the Assassin’s Creed action series are in the works.
In recent years, remakes of previous top titles for current platforms have become more and more acceptable and have also been successful. So it’s no wonder that Ubis oft is now jumping on this bandwagon. The company’s CEO Yves Guillemot has now confirmed that several parts of the Assassin’s Creed series will be revised and re-released in an optimized form.
Guillemot commented on the topic in an interview on the company’s website and explained: “First of all, players can be excited about some remakes that will allow us to revisit some of the games we’ve created in the past by modernizing them. There are worlds in some of our older Assassin’s Creed games that are still incredibly rich.”
Apart from these remakes, Assassin’s Creed will also receive new parts within the franchise with different gaming experiences. “The goal is for Assassin’s Creed games to be released more regularly, without offering the same experience every year,” says Guillemot. “There are a lot of great things coming, including Assassin’s Creed: Witch, which we have already announced and which will be very different from Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. I think we will surprise people quite a bit.”
As far as the remakes are concerned, the Ubisoft CEO did not reveal exactly how many titles there are and which previous games are being re-released. In the past, rumors have repeatedly suggested an optimized version of the popular Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, which is probably the most likely of the several remake projects. We will of course keep you up to date on further developments.
