Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has now received the final update, titled Title Update 1.7.0. The final patch for the game goes live on all platforms today, February 21 at 12:00am GMT / 7:00am ET / 4:00am PDT, and will address the last few remaining bugs for players.
What exactly does this ultimate Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update fix? Well, don’t get your hopes up for anything too exciting or game-changing. Basic bugs in gane’s world, armory and inventory have been resolved. River Raids now don’t count Katzenelnbogen’s captains when confirming kills, and some miscellaneous quality of life fixes have been thrown in.
Released in November 2020, with its final content update due in December 2022 and likely already done by those keen to play it, this update is the final patch after two years of continuous support for the game since its release. A brand new Assassin’s Creed title is said to be releasing in 2023, and it looks like Ubisoft is now moving on from its previous endeavor.
This final update was a bit lackluster and many players wanted to add New Game Plus mode to Valhalla before support was discontinued. Alas, no NG+ mode has been added, nor is there any sign of further DLC. Hopefully, the upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Phantasm, will clear up any concerns players have about the series right now.
Assassin’s Creed: Phantom is said to be returning to more traditional Assassin’s Creed gameplay, with Ubisoft focusing on “the core pillars of the first AC, on a smaller scale.” After bidding farewell to Valhalla, here’s hoping a scaled-down version of Assassin’s Creed: Phantom will be everything fans hoped for and more.
