Now it has hit Sony and a lengthy section from the upcoming Astro Bot game has been released prematurely and without their consent.
The leak shows footage filmed from the screen and comes from ChinaJoy, a trade fair for digital entertainment that is currently taking place again in Shanghai.
Protagonist Astro can be seen in a boss fight against a giant octopus with diving goggles and snorkel and a challenge level. The latter are bonus levels that you first have to find or unlock and offer particularly difficult challenges that can only be overcome with good timing and precise jumps.
In the comments under the published video, opinions are divided. While some can hardly wait to see Astro jumping across their TVs, others see it as just a cheap Mario rip-off and compare the levels to Mario Galaxy, for example.
The material is an excerpt from the demo that was already shown to the press at the Summer Game Fest. We were also able to control Astro through these levels and get an idea of his first really big adventure.
On September 6th, the time of leaks and demos will finally be over, because then Astro Bot will be available on the virtual shelves for everyone (who owns a PlayStation 5).
