Normally, Epic gives away older games. But Cygni: All Guns Blazing is an exciting exception, because the shoot’em’up has just been released. It will only be free for the first week, after which the normal retail price of 30 dollars will apply. The game is also available via Steam, but there is no free promotion there.

You shoot your way through various neon levels with your spaceshipdecide whether you prefer to use energy for more power or for better defense and fight against air fleets and ground offensives. Every now and then a huge alien boss awaits you. The game is on Steam At launch, the app had a rather meager 56 percent positive user reviews. Many comments complained that the content was too little for the normal retail price.

If you prefer to get personal when fighting, the second free game of the week could be the right one for you: DNF Duel is – surprisingly – about duels. The fighting game lets you choose from 16 different characters with whom you can then engage in fast-paced fist and foot fights.

This is possible in numerous game modes: Story, arcade, survival mode, multiplayer duels, ranked mode and more. There are also tons of things to unlock, so you definitely won’t get bored. On Steam, DNF Duel has 63 percent positive reviews, the title doesn’t have too many regular players anymore – so be prepared for waiting times in multiplayer.

Would you like anything else?

In addition to the two games, you can also a hero bundle for Apex Legends for free. It contains the shield healer Conduit and her skin. Of course, you need the (also free) base game to redeem the offer.

Is there something for you in this week’s offers at Epic or are you skipping the free games this time? You can find a few alternatives linked above that are currently particularly cheap in the Steam Sale. Or you can just wait until next week, when the free offers change as usual. We’ll keep you informed as always!
