Not only German role players should have been looking forward to the release of Atlas Fallen. The title from Germany was actually intended for release in May 2023, but nothing will come of it. Publisher Focus Entertainment has now announced this.
So far, the German studio Deck 13 has mainly been responsible for Souls Likes. With Lords of the Fallen and the two offshoots of The Surge, they also proved a certain competence in the hype genre. However, the new title Atlas Fallen takes a different path, it is a largely classic action role-playing game. But the developers have come up with a cool extra mechanic, with a special glove you control the heaps of sand in the game world. You can find more information in our detailed preview of Atlas Fallen.

A release was originally planned for May 16, 2023. However, as publisher Focus Entertainment has now announced, nothing will come of this date. Atlas Fallen has been postponed by several months and will be released on August 10, 2023 according to the new plan. Of course, all release platforms are affected, i.e. the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Why do you have to wait longer until you get sand in the works? The universally popular polishing is given as the reason, neither developers nor publishers give an exact reason.
The tweet reads: “Our goal has always been to create a memorable action role-playing experience in a unique universe, with exciting gameplay and the option of seamless co-op with a friend. We want to give the game some extra time, which allows us to deliver the best possible version of Atlas Fallen.”
For the next few weeks, the studios promise further updates and fresh game scenes. Specifically, they state that we should see Atlas Fallen’s first co-op gameplay.
