Who knows if it will stick to this, but Atlus currently has zero intention of releasing a Royal or Gold version Persona 3 Reloaded.
Persona 3 Reloaded is finally here, and according to our own Alex, it’s a damn good game! One thing that’s frustrating some fans, however, is that it’s technically just a remake of the original Persona 3. You see, for those who don’t know, following the original Persona 3, there were two other re-releases including Persona 3 FES again for PS2, and Persona 3 Portable 》, it landed on PSP as expected. Both games included additional content, with Portable even offering a playable female protagonist, but none of this appeared in Reload, leading some fans to suspect that Reload would eventually be re-released. Like Persona 4 and Persona 4. Character 5.

However, in a new interview, Persona team production manager Kazuhisa Wada said that’s not the case. In an interview with Gamerwk (translated by Persona Central), Wada said, “Currently, we are not considering modifications like Persona 5 to Persona 5 Royal, which involved significant changes to the original game and Added. So, fans can rest easy knowing that Persona 3 Reload offers a complete experience. With this game, we strive to ensure that fans around the world, including Southeast Asia, can access the game at the same time. So, we sincerely We sincerely hope that fans around the world will enjoy Persona 3 Reload and have fun.”
Technically, he’s not wrong that Reload offers a complete experience, it’s just that it might not be what many fans were hoping for. Later in the interview, Wada did note that he was surprised during development by how much higher the budget and cost of the remastered game was than the original, so there was always the possibility that the cost of a re-release would be too high. Of course, Wada did say “for now,” so there’s always the possibility that that could change if Reload is successful enough.
In the meantime, Persona 3 Reloaded is already long enough that I’m sure you can keep yourself busy, even if another version never comes.
