“Avatar 2” is just around the corner, but it is already known that the 5th and probably last “Avatar” film will bring the Na’vi to earth. It has also been confirmed which character will survive at least until “Avatar 5”.
- Many areas of Pandora remained unexplored in “Avatar”.
- In the second film, “Avatar: The Way of Water”, we now get to know the oceans of the planet.
- At the latest in “Avatar 5” we leave Pandora again and accompany the Na’vi to earth.
2009’s “Avatar” briefly took place on Earth, but quickly shifted the action to Pandora. The fascinating planet the Na’vi call home was barely explored in the first film, so we’ll learn a lot more about Pandora in the upcoming sequels.
Avatar 2: Will there be a series soon after the movies?
You shall not want for Pandora
“Avatar” fans had to wait a long time, now not only is a new film coming, three more parts are even to follow. Then we could even expect a series!
However, the rest of the “Avatar” saga, which is expected to conclude with the fifth film, will not play out entirely on Pandora. Producer Jon Landau revealed in an interview with io9that the Na’vi will visit Earth in “Avatar 5”.
Well, it’s funny, I didn’t want to talk about it, but I’ve heard that after the fact now [James Cameron] talked about it a little. In the fifth film there is a part of the story where we go to earth. And we go there to open people’s eyes, to open Neytiri’s eyes to what exists on Earth.
Jon Landau
Not only is it surprising that Landau is already divulging plot details about a movie that’s not slated for release until 2028, he also reveals that Neytiri will definitely be alive until the final film.
The earth is not only represented by the RDA. Just as you are defined by the choices you make in life, not all people are bad. Not all Na’vi are good. And that is also the case here on earth. And we want to show Neytiri that.
Jon Landau
This information suggests that the war between the Na’vi and humans will continue through all five films. In addition, it cannot be ruled out that we will explore other planets in upcoming “Avatar” films, because apparently the Na’vi can leave Pandora without any problems.
Surely “Avatar: The Way of Water” tells us more and gives hints about the upcoming sequels. The three-hour science fiction epic will start in German cinemas on December 14th.
